Live Map


The "Live Map" presents a cartographic visualization of the vehicles in operation on the organization's various routes. Its primary aim is to provide the user with a quick overview of where and how work is progressing, so they can understand and analyze it more quickly.


Search filters

By default, the map displays all vehicles currently navigating a route. The user can change these display criteria at any time if he/she deems it necessary.
  1. Display options - Customization of activities and additional options for map elements.
  2. Vehicles - List of all active vehicles in the organization.
  3. Routes - List of the organization's active routes.
  4. History - Displays a visual trail of travel by vehicle, from 15 minutes to 8 hours.
  5. Search - Text field used to filter map items by search text.
  6. Satellite - Click this icon to toggle between Satellite and Standard Map views.

The Live Map toolbar and Search filters

By default, the live map displays all the vehicles that are currently in Navigation Status. The Live map toolbar at the top of the page provides you access to the Display Menu, the Vehicles list, the Routes list and the Route History.



Each of the menu options in the toolbar above consists of the following options detailed below:

1. The Display menu   allows you to select the Configurations Options that can be viewed on the Live Map.
    Activities: where you can select to display the different Activities on the map (such as Mowing, Snow Removal, Street sweeping, etc.)
    Options Menu: allows you to toggle on items such as:
  1. Active Vehicles: shows only active vehicles within the last 8hrs on the map.
  2. In Progress: shows only routes in progress on the map.
  3. Open Feedback: displays any of your operator feedback on the map.
  4. Geofences: displays your geofencing on the map.
  5. Map Assets select among items such as (Fire Hydrants, Lights, Signs, etc.) on the map.
  6. Features: select among various features and display them on the map.
  7. Dumps: display any snow dumps on the map.
  8. Group Vehicles: which will allow you to group a set of vehicles into one group icon on the map.
  9. Reset: allows you to reset your current selections.
2.    The Vehicle menu   allows you to select any vehicle(s) in the list to display on the map.
3.  The Routes menu   allows you to select any Routes in the list.  The routes you choose or select will be displayed on the map. Note: You can filter routes by either clicking the checkbox beside a route to select to display the route on the map or uncheck the box to remove the route from the live map display.
4.  The History menu   by default this option is Deactivated. We provide the supervisor the option to choose anywhere between the “last 15 minutes” up to the “last 16 hours”, with color coded segments for each function that was used (e.g. Spreading is shown with Orange segments, whereas Scraping is shown with Dark grey segments, along the route, etc.). You can also choose to unselect all of the chosen Route’s and view only the GPS trace lines along the Route.

Note: We can only display up to the last 16 hours of history on the Live mapYou will have the whole (complete) history available within the Vehicle - History section in the Rasters.io platform. We only provide a limited number of hours for the Fleet supervisors or Admins who may need to get a quick view of what their drivers have done within the last shift or  two.

The Map Legend

By selecting the History on the white toolbar on the top of the map, the "Legend bar" becomes available at the bottom left of the map that will allow you to display the "History", the "Age" and the "Functions" used on any selected route.

The History Legend  allows you to see the Route History, To view only the route history for your route, you can choose to remove (uncheck all routes) in the Routes dropdown menu and then select as an example, Last 4 hours in the History drop down menu the map will show the GPS trace (Grey trace line) on your Route for the 4 hour time period selected.



The AGE legend  – will allow you to view color coded trace lines for the last time a vehicle has passed along the route using the AGE (time) thresholds, as an example in the History drop down menu, select at least an 8-hour History to be displayed on the map. Viewing the map, we will see all the roads that were completed within the last timeframes, each with a color code to inform you when the vehicle last passed along these route segments.
  1. (0-1hrs) route segments appear as DARK GREEN on the route
  1. (1-4 hours) route segments appear as LIGHT GREEN on the route
  1. (4-6 hours) route segments appear as  ORANGE on the route
  1. (6-8 hours) route segments appear would show as  RED on the route



The Functions legend  – will allow you to view on the map where certain functions were used by your vehicle:
  1. Red trace line segments would indicate a spreading blast occurred here.
  2. Whereas an Orange trace line along the route would indicates that the spreader was in Auto mode.


Viewing Spreader Controller info

If you are connected to any type of spreader controller and have selected the Functions Legend  icon at the bottom left of the map and then select an ORANGE or RED segment along your route, the Vehicles information box opens displaying details such as Vehicle, Telemetry, Route and Spreading details. If you open the Spreading section to view the details (as shown above) we will see the various spreader statuses listed as per the function used by the vehicle.

For example, on the map we can see route segments that are ORANGE segments, if we select one and view the details under the Spreading Tab, we will see: The Spreading Status, displays AUTO.



On the map, if we select a segment along the route that are RED segment and view under the Spreading Tab, once again we will see that the Spreading Status, displaysBLAST.

 

Viewing your Vehicle, Telemetry, Route and Activity details

On the Live Map – by selecting any Vehicle or Point along the route we will display the following information types within an information box with the following details:
1.  The Vehicle Section: we provide information such as the Name of the vehicle , the current address,  the date, the operator and the vehicle’s VIN number
2.  The Telemetry Section:  We provide the telemetry data that is provided by the G09 device from within the Geotab database. Information is provided in Real time.
3.  The Route section: For each vehicle we can display the name of the current route the vehicle is currently executing. We see the number of feedback reported by the driver. We also see the Routes progression so far, example so far on this route the progression is at 40% completion.
4.   The Spreading SectionIf the vehicle is connected to a spreader controller, we will have all of the information regarding the spreader. (E.g. the rate, the material, the status of materials used so far).
5.   The DTC code  The DTC details are provided directly from the Geotab G09 device, so if you have any error codes, click on the icon will display the current details of the codes. These details are available in the Geotab system and are also displayed in the Rasters.io platform.

Example: if you click on a segment in the route, you will be provide you with an information box with all details such as the Name of the route, the Activity the vehicle is performing, the Status of the route (e.g. the route is currently in navigation mode), the last updated Date and Time and the Total Distance of the route.



Easily view Completed vs Not Completer route segments

To view the Complete vs Not Completed segments along the Route, click on the History  toolbar drop down menu and select Deactivated and you will view any Blue or Green route segment lines on the route on the map, any Green segments along the route are completed segments, while the Blue segments are segments that are not yet completed on the route.
